Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5

Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5

The Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5, LBE-M5-23, is the latest evolution of a lightweight and compact, outdoor wireless broadband CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) from Ubiquiti Networks. This device is designed to be a cost effective and high performance solution for long-distance, wireless broadband bridging. It operates in the worldwide, license‑free 5GHz frequency range and features high performance of up to 100+ Mbps in real outdoor throughput and an incredible range of up to 18+ miles (30+ km).

The device has a breakthrough industrial design. Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5 Access Point is cost-effective when signal is to be sent to long distance.  The device combines proprietary hardware and software technologies to deliver its breakthrough combination of throughput and range with cost-effective value. It’s InnerFeed technology integrates the entire radio system into the feedhorn of the antenna.

Featuring the freedom of three-axis alignment, the LiteBeam is fully assembled in seconds and no special tools needed. Only a single wrench is required for pole-mounting.  The device features a unique ball joint mounting system that provides 3-axis adjustment flexibility for versatile mounting options. The mounting system, coupled with the built-in bubble level, enables quick and easy alignment.  Besides, it is compact in Size and light in weight to mount on walls.

When it comes to installation, the LiteBeam mounted outdoors with the reflector installed provides directional outdoor coverage (gain reflector-dependent). When mounted outdoors without the reflector installed, the device provides outdoor-to-indoor coverage using the 3 dBi Antenna Feed only. The revolutionary airMAX TDMA protocol enhances network performance and scalability.

In conclusion, Ubiquiti has provided an incredibly versatile equipment for installations requiring long range bridging and extending Wi-Fi coverage. The Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5 is   preferred for short and long range bridging   as there’s less interference on the 5.8GHz band, and can also network with UE operating on 802.11a/n.
